Cold Steel Oyabun 3.5 Folding Knife with Tanto Point Blade

The Cold Steel Oyabun Tanto Point Folding Knife is the result of years of contemplation on creating a folding knife that closely mirrors their famous Tanto blade. With Andrew Demko's work and Lynn Thompson's input, they were able to find a satisfactory solution. The Oyabun features a reinforced blade point, a high satin polish, expert heat treatment (Rc57 and sub-zero quenched), and the incredibly sharp edge that Cold Steel is known for. It also comes with an integral flipper for easy opening, as well as a (patent pending) leaf spring lock and safety. The blade is made from 4034 stainless steel and is housed in a durable handle reinforced with stainless steel liners. The handle is injection molded with a Griv-Ex base and overlaid with soft, checkered Kray-Ex attached to the frame with two sturdy bolts.

The design of the Oyabun closely resembles Cold Steel's iconic Tanto blade, offering a reinforced point and a high satin polish. The integral flipper allows for quick blade deployment. The 4034 stainless steel blade undergoes expert heat treatment, resulting in a hardness of Rc57 and sub-zero quenching for a sharp edge that is easy to maintain and has a moderate level of wear resistance. The Griv-Ex handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, with the Kray-Ex overlay adding extra texture. The knife features a spring leaf lock for enhanced safety, with a secondary safety mechanism that is patent-pending and highly resistant to impact and shock.
